Our Open Church in Clearwater, FL, Helps You Find Purpose and a Sense of Community
People often use words like “open church,” “welcoming,” and “inclusive” when describing Trinity Presbyterian Clearwater in Florida. But what does it mean to be an open church? For us, it means taking the time to make each visitor feel comfortable — like he or she is a member of our family. It means welcoming everyone through our doors, whether they are questioning their faith, new to the whole church experience, or looking for a new place to worship. Being an open church means we are warm and friendly to everyone who joins us, regardless of their beliefs or background.
For many people, a church signifies a place to worship and commune with God. We take our spiritual relationship with God very seriously, and recognize our need as people to commune with each other and build relationships. We provide many opportunities for people to plug into small groups and build strong relationships that will help them withstand the storms of life. Whether it’s meeting for Bible study or getting involved in Clearwater community outreach, our open church offers many programs to help people connect with God and others, such as:
- Small group studies — Meet weekly with our open church groups to discuss God, spiritual questions, and current events. Our groups range from a men’s Bible study and women’s Bible study to a “Wired Word” class, which is led by Pastor Andy Walton and discusses current events through a Biblical perspective.
- Church picnics and dinners — Our church loves to eat, and we welcome you to join us every third Sunday of the month for a dinner on the grounds after service. We also host picnics and movie nights at the church as a way to bring our congregation together and to let people know we are an open church, welcoming to all.
- Community outreach — We have many volunteer opportunities open to church congregation members who want to help the community. You can get involved in cooking and delivering hot breakfast for the homeless through Pinellas Hope, mentoring and volunteering with the children at Skycrest Elementary School, and joining many other groups reaching into our community to help those in need.
If you are looking for a place to plug in to the community, recharge your sense of purpose and meaning, and connect with God, we invite you to our open church. Feel free to contact us for more information or join us on Sunday morning for a worship service. We are located on the corner of Rainbow Drive and Hercules in Clearwater, FL, just one block north of Gulf to Bay Boulevard.
